PROJECT: Kitchen Design COLORS SPECIFIED: A smorgasbord of palettes consisting of varied violets, varied green/blues, yellows and orange/reds infuse culinary and creative rebirth. CREATIVE PERSONAL NEEDS: Client desired the remodel to reflect their varied styles and invite all-encompassing joy and harmony! AFFIRMATIVE COLOR® ® & SPATIAL SUCCESS: For this exciting kitchen remodel, the client opted for an upgraded contemporary 50's appeal, but were not sure how to master the remodel. This family is now thrilled to have a kitchen that includes many interesting and fun details, as well as providing nourishment on many levels.

The placement of the beaded curtain (Hula dancer!) at the entrance of the kitchen gently directs guests to walk towards the adjacent seating areas. We placed this colorful beaded curtain at the kitchen entry, to act as a semi-barrier, allow light to pass through, and create hanging art. Incidentally, this family loves Hawaii and enjoys playing the ukulele! The family chef can now prepare snacks and meals, conversing as she goes, without unnecessary feet in the way. By lowering the wall between the kitchen and dining room, we were able to bring additional natural light and conversation into these rooms. The new kitchen has incorporated sleek-solid surface counters, updated and vintage appliances, carefully planned storage and lighting, and visually stimulating details and color. Even the client's prized "red dot bowls" and personal artifacts have a tailored and safe home! For this wonderful & fresh 1950's contemporary remodel, the vintage O'Keefe & Merrit stove was hand-picked and refurbished (with red knobs), adding a dream-come-true for chef, for family and for friends. |

The varied use of color palettes in this kitchen realigns and renews personal creativity, inspiration and harmony. For this busy family, taking the time to interact at snack time and meals, reminds each member that true nourishment is prepared in the "heart of the home."
